Every twenty years, the planets Jupiter and
Saturn combine together in the sky, signaling
a general political and governmental shift.
Almost all of these conjunctions are in earth
signs, the ones most involved in practical
matters such as politics.
It just so happens that they are landing
on even number years, and every so often,
one lands in an election year. The year 2000
is one of those years. Although things do
change around the world, this seems to have
an adverse affect on United States presidents
-- they die.
In the early 1800s, future president
William
Henry Harrison led the fight against
the
Indians in his area. It was his forces
who
killed the great leader, Tecumseh,
chief
of the Shawnee. Years later, Harrison
won
the presidency in the election of 1840.
He
probably wasn't aware that as he raised
his
hand to swear in, there was a conjoining
of two planets in the sky that formed
a foreboding
sign.
Harrison never finished his term of
office.
In fact, he never really got started.
A month
after the inauguration, he died of
pneumonia.
People called it Tecumseh's Curse.
Curses
aside, this was just the first in a
line
of U.S. presidents to succumb to the
Jupiter-Saturn
transit.
Let me say that transits don't cause
death.
Planets merely show what might happen,
like
a weather forecast. People have free
will.
But then again, how many will alter
their
personality or the course of their
lives
in order to avoid the particular energies
at work around them? Not many. So,
like the
weather, when this astrological front
moves
in, you know the president better take
notice.
Is it fate? Can you escape it? The
"Teflon"
president Ronald Reagan did, but then
he
had astrologer Joan Quigley in the
Whitehouse
(courtesy of his wife, Nancy) planning
out
his schedule down to the minute. Even
then,
it wasn't enough to stop an assassination
attempt. Some say he escaped because
the
conjunction occurred in an air sign
(Libra)
instead of an earth sign (Capricorn,
Virgo,
Taurus). This cycle is in an earth
sign,
signaling a warning.
Here is the rundown after Harrison:
1860 -- LINCOLN: One of the most famous assassinations.
1880 -- GARFIELD: Assassinated in July of
1881.
1900 -- McKINLEY: Re-elected in 1900, he
should have retired. Assassinated in September,
1901.
1920- HARDING: Became ill while returning
from a trip and died in August, 1923.
1940 -- ROOSEVELT: He almost made it, but
chose to run again in 1944 and died in office.
1960 -- KENNEDY: We all know this one.
1980 -- REAGAN: The only man who beat the
curse, but not by much. The bullet missed
his heart by inches.
2000 -- BUSH JR....?
This year, 2000, the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction
falls in the earth sign Taurus. The earth
sign conjunctions seem to be the worst for
this aspect. Reagan's time was in an Air
sign conjunction -- the only time this has
happened.
As far as the future, we now know that Bill
Clinton completed his term, so that leaves
the question: will Mr. Bush fall victim to
"Tecumseh's Curse?" Right now (2007)
he has completed a first term and has another
year to go to finish the second. We will
just have to wait and see what happens.
The stars show the climate through which
we are traveling, but they also show the
connection between our soul and it's learning
cycles and karma. Metaphysically speaking,
any person, whether a president or not, has
free will. With self-knowledge and work,
this can avert and even change karmic conditions.
For George Bush specifically, Marjorie, an
Ascended Master channel, has said to me in
our book that he can shift this by changing his perceptions.
The question is, will he do it? Will
he awaken
to a larger unfoldment of his soul
purpose?
Because she says that if he remains
"asleep"
then he will most likely fall into
the pattern
that has befallen the other presidents.
It
is up to him, not the stars, to create
his
destiny.
